After our kick-off assemblies at school we had a two week push to see how many pennies we could collect. Representatives from our feeder elementary schools as well as folks from the community came in each morning to help us collect as students were arriving. We had a lot of fun and collected more than 177,000 pennies. Thanks to the O'Fallon police and fire departments and employees of Bank of America who came to help.
Penny Wars at North Middle
The penny wars got intense as the school voted through their collection efforts to determine which principal would eat a plate of "elf spaghetti." In the end, Mr. Schwendeman was "victorious" and a good sport all at the same time.
Baby & Kid Expo
The annual Baby & Kid Expo is held at the St. Charles Convention Center. This year the president, Heather Deatz, provided a booth to the P.A.W.S. cause. Staff and students got the youngsters involved in a penny toss game and we got the word out regarding our efforts. It was great fun and we look forward to other opportunities like this.
