Our letter writing campaign is under-way. Students in communication arts classes are meeting letter writing curriculum objectives by writing letters to schools in other states. The goal is to connect with students in all 50 states to share our project and encourage participation. So far we have received contributions from supporting schools all over the US – from California to Connecticut and from Montana to Florida. To see who has joined us in this effort, go to our partners page.
Eighth grade students in Computer Exploration classes have responded and shared their appreciation by typing and sending personal thank you letters to partners. This links their creation of business documents to National Educational Technology Standards. Click here to view samples of student work.

Recently we participated in the Baby & Kid Expo at the St. Charles Convention Center. Thanks to Heather Deatz for the opportunity to collect pennies and, more importantly, to let our students engage with kids in the community.

From the start we wanted a unique way to display pennies from our collection. It was decided that we would display the first 1 million pennies. Thanks to Frank Zykan Safe & Vault we now have a 6'x6'x2' safe in the lobby. Modified to accommodate clear front panels, the safe is able to hold more than a million pennies for easy diplay during the day while being secured behind closed and locked doors each night.
